Pie Plate "Illuminator"
An Illinois farmer uses aluminum pie plates as ceiling-light reflectors for the flourescent bulbs in his farm shop. To affix each plate, he cuts a hole in the center, slips the bulb end through the hole, and screws it into the socket. This reportedly almost doubles the amount of illumination while saving electricity (since each bulb utilzes only 26 watts to produce the light of a 100 watt incandescent bulb).
