Big Round Bale Spinner
Pennsylvania farmer Dennis Nebgen's skid steer loader-mounted vertical Big Round Bale Spinner is designed for the smaller operator who wants to peel off part of a big round bale and lave the rest until needed. The device consists of a 1 3/4-inch by 48 inch replaceable steel bale spear (tapered at the bale end) that's seated on a hub mounted to a 4 by 5-foot frame made of 2 1/2-inch square steel tubing. The hub has tapered roller bearings to handle the stress of tipping a bale from horizontal to vertical. The operator thips the spinner down to spear the bale then tilts the frame back down so the bale points up. Once the bale is transported, the spinner can be unhooked from the skid steer. Four extensions on the frame keep bale and spinner up off the ground, ready for the hay to be peeled by hand as needed.
