Bed-Mounted Crane
Depending on boom size, lifting mode, etc., a Bed-Mounted Crane is designed to hoist a load (weighting as much as a ton) via cable winch from ground level to bed height then swing it into the cargo area. Usually extendable as well as height-adjustable, the crane sits in a base plate permanently bolted into the truck bed but is designed to be removable for use in other vehicles that are likewise base-plate equipped. Lift power is provided by hand-cranking, hydraulic ram, or motor running off a 12-volt battery.
Cost range: $200-$2,000, depending on lifting mode and capacity.
Limitations Addressed by Product: Upper extremity, Back, Lower extremity, Strength/endurance
