Gooseneck Trailer Hitch Guide
The Gooseneck Trailer Hitch Guide allows persons with back or vision impairments to more easily line up a goose-neck trailer to the fifth-wheel hitch in the bed of a pickup truck. Eastaboga (AL) farmer Jerry Smelley uses a 32-inch length of 2-inch PVC pipe for guidance in hitching his gooseneck trailer onto his pickup. He cut six 3-inch slots into one end of the pipe so it slips over the ball. This lets him see the top of the pipe through his rearview mirror. He simply backs the pickup until the trailer hitch knocks over the pipe, which tells him the hitch is right over the ball and ready to lower.
