Rifle and Knife Gripping Modifications
The Rifle and Knife Gripping Modifications made by Verndale, MN, farmer Alan Werk are simple and inexpensive. Werk welded a steel loop onto a narrow piece of metal, which he then fastened by two hose clamps to the barrel of his rifle. The loop protrudes out from the side of the barrel to hold his Dorrance hook steady as it grips the gun. Also, Werk welded a bolt stud to the end of his hunting knife handle. This allows him to screw the knife onto a prosthesis as a terminal device when needed.
