John's Reel II
The John's Reel II is basically an electric screwdriver-gear motor affixed to a Zebco 444 closed-face spinning reel. The index finger controls casting of the line by depressing the casting trigger. The thumb controls retrieval of the line by activating the motor via a switch (which can be ordered for right-handed or left-handed use). One must "play" the fish to bring it in, because the motor is not strong enough to winch it in. The device can have a remote push button or joystick mounted on the headrest or armrest of a wheelchair.
