Weight Lifting Hook Grip
Weight Lifting Hook Grip

A Weight Lifting Hook Grip consists of a 2- or 3-inch, cushioned Velcro(r) wrist strap that's attached to a padded, 2-inch-wide metal hook over which the user cups his hand. The hook is what holds the object (e.g., bucket, beehive, anything with a handle), thus reducing the amount of grip strength needed to lift. Among the device's potential benefits are less pressure on the palm, wrist kept steady so less rotation, no blisters/chaffing, and non-slip coating that minimizes injury/prevents sweating. There are many brands: Cobra Grips, Crown Gear, Dmoose Fitness, Grip Power Pads, Harbinger, ISH Power, Lifting Lab, ProFitness, Schick. (Some types feature two thin, rubber-coated hooks spaced 2 inches apart, rather than a single wide hook.)
