Manual Impact Screwdriver
The Manual Impact Screwdriver is designed to remove screws with the power of an impact driver but not its bulk, weight, and cost. The tool features a solid impact cap at the end of the handle that's part of its drive-through hexagon bolster blade. When the cap is hit with a hammer, a cam rotation mechanism inside the handle turns the driving tip counter-clockwise about 12°, reportedly loosening even the most tightly imbedded screws without damaging either handle or blade. Often available as a set with Phillips head and slotted head, it's a normal screwdriver when used in a clockwise motion to insert a screw.
Cost range: $20-$25 as a Phillips- and slotted-blade set
Limitations Addressed by Product: Upper extremity, Strength/endurance, Back
