Sowers Wire Splicer
Tired of having to constantly splice the cattle- and deer-caused breaks in his electric fences, Murdock (KS) farmer Leon Sowers invented a simple tool that does the job much faster and reportedly results in better conductivity than a hand-wound splice. With his lightweight, rust-free Sowers Wire Splicer (plus 6 inches of wire and a needle-nose vice-grip to hold it tight), he can reportedly reconnect a 14-gauge wire in about 30 seconds. Some farmers also use the device to splice together rolls of baling wire for wire balers. A wire splicer for 12 1/2-guage wire is also available.
