Sawyer Manual Wood-Post Remover
Instead of digging or jacking, the Sawyer Manual Wood-Post Remover utilizes water pressure to loosen and extract the posts, whether in the ground or in concrete footings. The device is a 34-inch-long, spike-shaped, hollow steel shaft with a rubberized T-handle and water hose connection at the top and series of water jets at the bottom. With the water on, the tool is sunk into the ground adjacent to the post or concrete footing. Soon, the jets have cut the dirt away, creating a layer of mud that eliminates the friction between the ground and the post or footing. This allows for removal using one or two pry bars or similar tool.
