Off-Road Vehicle-Towed Planter
The Off-Road Vehicle-Towed Planter is designed for sowing seed into farm small-acreage tracts, large gardens, and wildlife food plots. Most units consist of pneumatic tires on a frame that has one or two seed hoppers, which can be moved to adjust spreading width from 8 up to 36 inches and can be adjusted internally for seeds of different sizes. Other common features include: electric lift system (to raise/lower the unit for transporting and adjusting planting depth), pull-type or one-point hitch (to accommodate the hitching and hydraulic systems of ATVs, UTVs, garden tractors, and riding mowers), and optional pre- and post-sowing attachments (e.g., wavy coulters, front discs, tines, chain-link harrows, press wheels, cultipackers).
