Electric Tongue Jack
Having from 2,500 to 5,000 pounds of lifting capacity (depending on model), Electric Tongue Jacks are designed for the leveling and hitching of an RV and any trailer (e.g., cargo, stock, camping) with an A-frame coupler. Utilizing either a system of gears or a low-friction ball screw, most models run off the towing vehicle's battery, with raising/lowering accomplished via buttons or switches on the jack itself or by hand-held remote. Common features include: universal bolt pattern (fits all A-frame couplers), large foot plate (prevents sink-in on soft ground or asphalt), built-in leveling gauge, night light (for hitching/unhitching in the dark), and emergency hand crank (in case of battery failure).
