Manually Powered Log-Skidding Arch
This Manually Powered Log-Skidding Arch is designed to pick up and carry (fully suspended) any straight 4- to 16-inch-diameter log up to 16 feet long and weighing up to 1,000 pounds. When grabbed at its midpoint, the log's entire weight is on the tool's 16-inch-diameter wheels, minimizing one's effort to turn, re-position, or haul it. Pulling down on (or pumping) the handle produces a toggling action, which not only lifts the log but also is helpful in moving it (a foot at a time) up an incline or over rough terrain. In addition, the Junior can be used to fell a cut tree hung up in a dense stand by grasping and walking it back until it falls and elevate one end of a log to be sawed for firewood. Available as an optional accessory is as extension handle that adds 33 inches to accommodate the transporting of longer logs.
